79-year-old woman battles Ypsilanti Township over number of medical marijuana plants caregivers are allowed
1 min readYPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Me. – There is a limit to the number of medicinal marijuana plants a person can have in their home in the Ypsilanti municipality.
A senior citizen who uses these plants in her role as a carer has exceeded this limit by far. She spoke to Local 4 and said she would not give in, even if it put her in jail.

Judith Pontius, 79, has a marijuana grower with more than 60 plants. She said she knew she was breaking community rules.
No cultivation operations are allowed in households with more than 12 plants. Everything else bothers the neighbors.
This week a judge ordered Pontius to get rid of their plants. She said she won’t remove them. She said she was a licensed nurse and had seen marijuana help her patients manage chronic pain.
