Beyoncé reveals she is raising honey bees at home

Bzzz bzzz… Bee-yoncé raises bees.

Beyoncé’s fans have long identified themselves as “the Beyhive,” but the legendary singer now has her own beehives at home, she told Harper’s Bazaar in the September issue.

“Now I’m building a hemp and honey farm. I even have beehives on my roof! ”She said.

She didn’t specify which of her lots her bees live on – Miami? Bel Air? New Orleans? – but she was last in the Hamptons with husband Jay-Z and their children Blue Ivy, Rumi and Sir in their $ 26 million mansion.

“During the quarantine, I went from excessive indulgence to positive rituals that draw from previous generations and give things my own touch … I’m so happy that my daughters have exemplified these rituals from me,” she told the magazine.

A representative did not return a request to confirm the location of the beehives. Beyoncé has also traveled to Miami in the past few months.

Queen Bey’s story with bees

Beyoncé didn’t always love bees. As a child, she and two other girls discovered bees in a bush making them scream, a home video used in their recent ad campaign with Adidas shows.

“Leave these bees alone!” A man, presumably Beyoncé’s father, can be heard in the video when a young Knowles screams on her porch.

Beyoncé’s newfound interest in beekeeping comes from the healing properties of honey, she said. According to studies, honey has antibacterial properties.

When the crush is housed on the roof of their Hamptons home, it’s not clear where they would sit on the mostly sloping roof.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z bought the guarded Hamptons house on Georgica Pond in 2017. The main house spans 12,000 square feet and has seven bedrooms. The 2-acre property also has a 1,800-square-foot guest house, Page Six reported.

The house is close to a private airport which also has space for beekeeping as the celebrity’s popular transportation hub could be closed.

Beekeeping has become increasingly popular in recent years. Martha Stewart is a celebrity fan of the hobby, and the Long Islanders have jumped on the trend.

Beehives have appeared on the rooftops of Brooklyn, the Bank of America Tower, the Brooks Brothers flagship, and veteran homes – though not everyone was happy about it.

The beekeeping method has sparked controversy on TikTok, The Post previously reported.

She also grows hemp

Beyoncé also grows hemp, she said in an interview.

“I discovered CBD on my last tour and experienced its benefits for pain and inflammation. It has helped me with my restless nights and the excitement that comes with being unable to sleep, ”she said.

Jay-Z is the chief brand strategist for California marijuana dispensary Caliva, and Beyoncé’s father, Mathew Knowles, is a medical marijuana user who works in the marijuana farmland business, he told Page Six.
