The federal Economic Classification Policy Committee said the marijuana industry “will continue to grow”. The panel, made up of the White House’s Office of Management and Budget, the Census Bureau, the Bureau of Economic Analysis, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics, recommends several changes to how cannabis, hemp, and CBD companies are categorized in the North American industry classification system.
USA athletics said it agreed that the rules punishing Olympic athletes for marijuana should “be reassessed”. But it chooses not to let Sha’Carri Richardson run in the upcoming Tokyo relay race even though it’s outside of their initial 30-day lockout window.
Virginia Governor and Attorney General Candidates are sharply divided across party lines on the legalization of marijuana – the Democrats proudly support the new law they passed earlier this year, and the Republicans maintain their opposition.
A Member of the Arcata, California City Council has agreed to support a resolution aimed at making it the third city in the state to decriminalize psychedelics. Meanwhile, a bill to legalize possession of psilocybin, LSD and more is being pushed forward at the state level, with another committee vote due next week.
A new poll found that overall American men support Sha’Carri Richardson’s suspension from the Olympics for marijuana, while women oppose it.

The Federal Trade Commission approved a final government consent order against Kushly Industries LLC and its owner for allegedly making false or unsupported health claims about their CBD products.
Customs and Border Protection reminded that marijuana is still nationwide illegal.
Former Labor Minister Robert Reich tweeted: “Reminder: The costs of enforcing the marijuana ban, including arrests, court costs and incarceration, run to nearly $ 14 billion a year. It is time to end this madness. ”So did he tweeted“What does it tell you if incumbent Congressmen have no responsibility for instigating a deadly riot in the Capitol, but Sha’Carri Richardson is suspended from the Olympics for cannabis use?”
Majority Leader in the Senate, Chuck Schumer (D-NY) tweeted: “The Americans are sending a clear message: They want an end to the marijuana ban. I’m working with @SenBooker and @RonWyden in the Senate to end the federal ban and repair the damage caused by the war on drugs. “
Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) tweeted about a visit to a marijuana dispensary, saying, “Cannabis is a business engine for communities in Oregon and across the country. It is high time to end the federal cannabis ban, and I am working hard to do just that. “
Representative Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) sent a press release announcing the House Appropriations Committee passing a funding bill that contains no provisions preventing Washington, DC from legalizing marijuana sales.
Representative Barbara Lee (D-CA) tweeted: “Now decriminalize and legalize marijuana.”
Representative Mike Garcia (R-CA) held a press conference with a local sheriff about efforts to combat illegal marijuana growing areas.

Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak (D) has appointed three members to the Cannabis Compliance Board.
Florida Democratic gubernatorial candidate Nikki Fried, currently the state’s agriculture commissioner, tweeted, “Marijuana is medicine. It is high time to end the cannabis ban – for criminal justice reform, health care, economic opportunities and well-paying jobs. “
North Carolinas The attorney general said he supported medical cannabis but wanted to make sure it was properly regulated.
The California The congregation’s health committee won’t hear a Senate-approved bill legalizing safe places to go for illicit drugs until next year.
A Mississippi The senator said he believes lawmakers will reach an agreement on medical cannabis legislation this summer.
