Liberty Health Sciences opens new medical marijuana dispensary, Ocala’s sixth

Liberty Health Sciences has opened a new medical marijuana dispensary in Ocala, bringing the total number of dispensaries within city limits to six.

Ayr Wellness Inc. announced the opening of the company’s 39th pharmacy in Florida and the first in the Ocala area this week. The pharmacy is located on east Ocala at 4920 East Silver Springs Boulevard.

The 3,000 square foot store offers a selection of products available to patients with valid medical marijuana licenses.

“We believe this is a critical time for pharmacies to open in the Florida market and anchoring our share of attractive locations across the state,” said Jonathan Sandelman, CEO of Ayr Wellness Inc.

The new pharmacy joins several others that have opened their doors in Ocala in recent years.

GrowHealthy opened its doors in January 2020, Trulieve in June 2020, and One plant in September 2020.

The city of Ocala now has a total of six pharmacies within the city limits. There are at least 18 medical marijuana dispensaries within 80 miles of Ocala, including ten in Gainesville.

Liberty Health Sciences Ocala is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
