“I have no plans here to add parks, eliminate parks, or add more money,” said Rader. “I really want to know how we are doing.”

Senator Mary Boren, D-Norman, is seeking a study to help pregnant girls, women, and fathers-to-be in high school, CareerTech, and college with upgraded accommodations.

Boren said these accommodations could include vacations for scholarship college athletes who become pregnant.

“There are many different options that could be helpful, such as taking a break so you can step back if necessary and it won’t affect your transcript and financial support,” said Boren.

She said such adjustments could help reduce the number of abortions.

The list of requested studies was published on Friday. The applications are assigned to committees whose chairmen decide whether a study is planned for presentation.

Originally 72 were filed, but one has been withdrawn, said Aaron Cooper, a spokesman for Senate President Pro Tem Greg Treat, R-Oklahoma City.

Members of the House requested 135 interim studies. House Speaker Charles McCall, R-Atoka, is expected to approve or deny the motions later this month.
