Mississippi Supreme Court refuses to reconsider medical marijuana ruling

1 min read

JACKSON, miss. (Mississippi today) – One last breath was declined convince the Mississippi Supreme Court to reconsider its landmark decision, the put down the medical marijuana initiative approved by voters in November and the entire voting process.

The Supreme Court rejected requests from sponsors of an early voting initiative and a recreational marijuana initiative to reconsider its 6-3 ruling, issued in late May. In a bilateral ruling released Thursday, Southern District judge Dawn Beam, who wrote for the court, said that November would give parties who wanted to intervene in the lawsuit a deadline to file the motion. And in the absence of either party, “the current application for permission to intervene is not well received and should be rejected”.

And with the rejection of this request, the efforts of the groups to request a sample are pointless, Beam wrote.

This effectively ends any possibility of the decision to end medical marijuana and the initiative process being reversed.
