2 min readOKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Oklahoma City Public Schools offers a one-time recruitment scholarship of $ 1,500 to teachers accepting secondary science, math, and PK-12 special education jobs at an OKCPS school.
These specialized positions are considered critical to day-to-day school operations.

OKCPS is re-focusing on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) to equip graduates for future careers.
Special education teachers can still enroll in OKCPS ‘Special Education Bootcamp for proper certification.

The salaries and benefits include:
OKCPS has an initial base salary of $ 41,000 plus healthcare benefits of up to $ 7,390.80; OKCPS also pays the employee’s portion of Oklahoma Teachers’ retirement and adds an additional 7 percent to their compensation package, totaling at least $ 51,260.80; A contract with 181 working days with summer and other paid holidays free; regular working hours are Monday to Friday, 7.5-hour days; compensation pay – there are 24 pay periods in a contract year, so that employees receive a paycheck even during the summer holidays; paid health insurance ; Paid life insurance; Pays contributions to the teacher pension system and other OKCPS benefits.
