The cannabis industry is growing incredibly fast and has become one of the hottest investment industries in the world in recent years. After decades of legislative reform efforts, many states have legalized the use of medical marijuana and recreational marijuana, and decriminalized the cultivation of cannabis for a profit in the mainstream business. This is how tents are built all over North America.

Gray areas around US legality

When it comes to growing marijuana at home, there is a lot of confusion and gray areas. This is especially the case in the United States, where growing cannabis is illegal at the federal level. However, states across the country have legalized cannabis. Approximately 99% of the time, state law is used to enforce growth events within their boundaries.

There are a few different sets of laws to consider when growing cannabis.

Now that we know which states are allowed to grow cannabis at home, it is time to understand the regulations governing growing cannabis in those states. Some states require you to register with the state or with government agencies. Here is a breakdown of the current regulations governing growing cannabis in the United States.

Cannabis Growing Regulations by State

In Arizona, you must qualify and then register with the Department of Health Services, but must be more than 25 miles from a pharmacy. In California, you can grow cannabis at home if you are over 21 years old. However, according to Prop 215, medicinal growers have no volume restrictions, and SB240 only allows six mature plants in addition to 12 immature plants. You can have up to 6 plants in Colorado if you are over 21 years old. Only three of these plants can bloom. Households with more than one adult living on the site are allowed to plant a maximum of 12 plants. You can grow up to 10 plants in Hawaii if you register with the state. Only companies can grow medicinal cannabis in Illinois. Only universities are allowed to grow medical marijuana in Louisiana. In Maine, adults 21 and older can grow six mature plants or 12 immature plants. In Massachusetts, adults over the age of 21 can grow marijuana with up to 6 plants for a single person and up to 12 plants for multiple adults in a single household. In Montana, medical marijuana patients can grow up to 4 mature plants or have 12 seedlings. In Nevada, anyone over 21 can grow cannabis as long as they are 25 miles from the pharmacies. In New Mexico, people with a personal production license can grow up to 4 mature plants and 12 seedlings. A maximum of 2 licenses may grow per household. In Oklahoma, patients licensed to use medical marijuana can grow six adult plants and up to 6 seedlings. Anyone over 21 can grow cannabis in Oregon. With Rhode Island, registered patients can grow up to 12 mature plants per person for up to 24 plants per household. In Vermont, medical marijuana card holders can grow up to 2 plants per household. Washington state-registered medical marijuana users can have up to 6 plants, and in some cases, up to 15 plants with special permission.

The legality of growing cannabis in Canada

As of 2018, it has been legal in Canada to grow, own, and use cannabis at the federal level. However, there are various rules and regulations to ensure minors don’t have access to it, and the country has a policy on how much home waxing you can prescribe.

Growers are allowed to plant a certain number of plants indoors and outdoors. The guideline is based on the number of grams your doctor has prescribed, but generally there is one four-plant rule per household. Remember, some provinces are banned from growing cannabis (Quebec, Manitoba).

Most provinces allow adults aged 19 and over to use and grow cannabis. However, some require you to be 18 years old. Note that each province has different regulations for plant growth. Most allow up to 4 plants per household. Some have provisions that allow landlords to give their permission and the producer must be a certain number of meters from schools or other facilities.

Measure to protect pets and children

These measures are designed to protect children and pets by ensuring that they do not have access to these plants. There are also some provinces with laws forcing growers to keep their plants out of the public eye. These laws require some growers to rely on tents to be compliant and successful in their endeavors.

Grow tents are becoming essential in areas where cannabis growth is legal

In the US and Canada, people rely on tents to produce high quality cannabis plants that are healthy and safe for the public to use. This is primarily a problem in some areas of Canada and is a good idea for both growing tent users in both countries.

As individual grower acreage continues to grow across North America, people must buy tents to avoid taking up space in their homes. Another reason people buy tents is to protect outdoor plants from the elements or prying eyes. The tents also play a vital role in regulatory compliance in certain areas.

Build tents for home growers

There are a number of benefits to growing tents where they are legal. Perhaps the main reason is the plants’ ability to control the environment to ensure their health and quality.

Another practical aspect of using tents is installing them, using them, and then dismantling them. They are easy to move around and offer better quality and convenience so structures like greenhouses can grow.

They are ideal for beginners who are just learning how to grow cannabis. The environment is easier to control and you can purchase it in a variety of sizes and shapes. They also leave the plant plenty of room to grow as the tips are built tall.

Many people who use tents invest in models with clear sides for easy observation and sturdy support systems to hang their grow lights. There is also enough space to install a lot of automation for irrigation and light or temperature control via fans, so that maintenance and servicing of the tent is minimal.

Are you considering buying a grow tent?

If you are planning to order and install a grow tent, please make sure you are familiar with the laws in your area. Although federal law prohibits the growth of cannabis in the United States, in most cases, state laws can vary and take precedence. However, it’s important to remember that tent tent growing is currently still illegal in most states and growers are not exempt from prosecution under federal law.

If you live in Canada, only two provinces prohibit tent farm growing, including Quebec and Manitoba. In the rest of the country, most citizens aged 18 or 19 have limited growth. However, please observe the regulations of the individual provinces in order to avoid compliance problems.
